Commission Information

I would prefer when ever possible to take the pictures of your horses or pets.  It is very important to meet and get to know the animals.   This allows me to bring the animals’ personality into my work.  

If it is not possible for me to take the pictures then the following criteria must be met in your photographs for me to be able to use them as reference  for the painting or drawing.  If this is not met it might not be possible to complete the commission.  

• Clear and in focus.  The more detail the better for a good portrait.
• Color true to life.
• Neutral background so that your pet’s out line is clear.
• Picture taken at eye level with out flash.  Want to see your pet’s eye.
• Photo must be NO SMALLER then 5X7.   The bigger the better.
• The pets image must be at least 3/4 of the total of the photographic image.
• If you choose to send me a digital image it must be at least 5MP resolution.

 

Pencil/graphite allow 2-3 weeks

Oils allow minimum of 2 months

Above estimated times will depend on work in progress and  might be longer.

New commissions between November 15 and December 31 will be limited and not guaranteed completion during the holiday season.

 

The following is for reference photographs to be used for commissioned portraits.

 

MG Lederer reserves the right to use all sold original art work for prints and future advertisement.
